The iPhone 17 air is a rumor phone that – no matter what could be good or bad on this subject – will be largely judged in its thin. After all, being thin seems to be all your USP. And on this front, it could be a success.
In a new YouTube video, FrontpageTech (via Notebookcheck) said that the air of the iPhone 17 was only 5.5 mm thick, which would make it even thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S25 mm thickness edge. Although this is only a difference of 0.3 mm, it could always be a big victory for Apple, because the S25 EDGE would be the main competitor of this phone, and is also sold on the slim.
Of course, we take this statement of thickness with a pinch of salt, especially since FrontpageTech has a mixed assessment. But in recent times, they have been right more often than they were wrong, and this leak is largely in line with the air leaks from the previous iPhone 17 – although it is put at a slightly thinner 5.44 mm and another at a slightly thicker 5.65 mm. In any case, the leaks suggest that he will make Samsung’s rival phone beat on this front.

Compromise cameras and more level price
However, iPhone 17 air will probably not have the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge beats in all other ways, because this last leak – among others – suggests that iPhone 17 air will only have one 48MP camera. This contrasts with a double-objective camera on the S25 edge, composed of both a main 200 MP sensor and a 12MP ultra-large camera. It therefore seems that Apple probably gives priority to thinness compared to photography.

Finally, the video tackles the price, indicating that air iPhone 17 will cost about the same amount as the iPhone 16 Plus – a phone that starts at $ 899 / £ 899 / $ 1,599 in. This is also online with several previous leaks.
