The legend of Los Angeles Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw, reached Rarefied Air on Wednesday evening, becoming the 20th player to reach 3,000 stick withdrawals for his career.

It was a suspense night in a Dodger stadium with closed counters since Kershaw had only two stick withdrawals against the Chicago White Sox when he entered the sixth round. He had 2,999 stick withdrawals and had already obtained two withdrawals in the context with his number of tangages reaching three figures.

But, on this 100th land, Kershaw made Vinny Capra launches and the crowd has become ballistic.

Kershaw was able to savor the moment, when the game stopped with a standing ovation of the canoe and the crowd to celebrate the opportunity.

“It’s a little more difficult when you try to get people out,” said Kershaw after the 5-4 victory by Los Angeles, by ESPN. “I never really had to do this before.”

Victory was also an effort compared, Freddie Freeman delivering a single to the ninth round when the Dodgers needed three points to win.

After the match, Kershaw was seen with a flute of champagne in the clubhouse, where ESPN told that he had told everyone that his accomplishment would mean nothing without them celebrating with him.

In the group of 20 sacred men, Kershaw is only the fourth left -hander to have reached 3,000 stick withdrawals. He joined Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton and CC Sabathia on this list.

Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander are the only active launchers with Kershaw to have accomplished the feat.

Manager Dave Roberts has made a point of letting Kershaw leave for as long as he could make sure that he achieved his goal at home.

“I was going to give him every chance to do it at home,” said Roberts.

It took him a while – Kershaw said he “would be better to do it in the first” – but satisfaction was clear on Kershaw’s face after Capra was shot.
