“PTI to move the reference against four MNA”

Islamabad:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) has decided to file a reference against four members of the National Assembly (MNA) who defeated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) after being elected with the support of PTI.

According to the head of the PTI Asad Qaiser, the party finalized its plan to take measures against these legislators to deviate from the party policy during the vote on the 26th constitutional amendment.

The reference will be sent to the President of the National Assembly and the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP).

Last year, the four independent members supported by PTI, including Usman Ali, Aurangzeb Kichi, Mubarak Zeb and Zahor Qureshi voted in favor of the 26th bill of constitutional amendment to the National Assembly.

This decision helped the government to win 225 votes, exceeding 224 required.

The 26th amendment considerably changed the country’s judicial system, including the provisions for judicial appointments, the mandate of the chief judge and the composition of the judicial commission.

“These members have won their seats on PTI tickets and have now joined the PML-N. We asked the party to send a reference to disqualification to the speaker and ECP. Let’s see what measures they take,” said Qaiser.

Earlier, Qaiser had said that the independent candidates supported by PTI, who supported the controversial constitutional amendment, betrayed the party and its founder, Imran Khan.

“Those who voted [in favour of the bill] have committed a betrayal against the party and its founder, “said Qaiser.
