Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has prepared the Green Construction Incitations 2025 policy with incentives, including a 10% discount on all official costs for buildings adapted to the environment.
The LDA legal adviser, Sahibzada Muzafar, submitted the policy of politics before the judge of the High Court of Lahore (LHC), Shahid Kairm, during the hearing, a set of petitions on how SMOG can be controlled, the company can be made without pollution and groundwater can be protected from waste.

Under the proposed policy, it will be mandatory to make arrangements for the conservation of the water used and rainwater, the installation of solar panels, gardening on roofs and the design of green construction structures in accordance with the international standard.
It provides that the premises meeting the criteria for two years will obtain the status of green construction.
Six buildings are in the last stages of carrying out the status of green building.
The concession granted to buildings which will not implement policy after three years will be converted into fine.
The court was informed that the objective of the policy was to promote construction practices that respect the environment and econetics in Lahore. It has been informed that the Punjab government has embarked on sustainable urban development by energy efficiency and green construction practices.
The “green building” refers to designed, built and exploited structures to minimize environmental impact thanks to effective use of resources and an improvement in health and productivity of occupants.
The required implementation of LDA statutes concerning the improvement of the environment includes planting trees, gardening on the roof, solarization, gray water treatment factories and harvesting rainwater.
The declared objective of the initiative is to encourage the conception of green buildings and the conservation of energy, encourage economic to promote the adoption of green practices and to align with global standards and national objectives of sustainability.

He also noted that the growing solar energy sector has the potential to create thousands of green jobs, ranging from manufacturing and installation to maintenance and research.
