If President Donald Trump belonged, the Washington football team would never have changed his name.
The NFL team is currently going through Washington commanders, but the old name, Redskins, is Trump that he would have kept it as if he had the organization.
“Well, do you want me to make a controversial statement? I would do it,” Trump told journalists in Morristown, New Jersey on Sunday. “I wouldn’t have changed the name. But it’s theirs – he just doesn’t have the same ring for me.”

The owner of the commanders, Josh Harris, told Bret Baier on “Special Report” in April that, despite his plan to bring the team to Washington DC on the site of the old RFK stadium, the name of the Redskins would not return.
“The names of the commanders actually took an incredible element in our building,” said Harris. “So people that certain types of players are hard, who love football, are delegated commanders and Jayden [Daniels]For example, is a commander and they are classified.
“And, you know, corporate staff have entered, and obviously, we are in a military city here. There are more military staff than everywhere else, so we are moving forward with the names of the commanders, excited about it, and not looking back.”

Although he may not have changed the name, Trump thinks that a winning team will stay with fans whatever happens. This is exactly what Washington did last season, reaching the NFC championship match for the first time in almost three decades under the new quarter Jayden Daniels.
“But, you know, winning can sound everything well,” said Trump. “So, if they suddenly win the commanders sound well. But I would not have changed the name.”

“Well, we will see what’s going on,” he replied. “I looked at the agreement, and I don’t hold it against them. It is a very important property, it is an excellent property element. So we will see. If I can help them, I would.
“In the end, we control this [land]. The federal government ultimately controls it, so we will see what is happening. I saw the plans, I saw the stadium. The owner is a very successful and very good man. I know him a little. It would be great that the NFL was there. I can tell you. If they want to negotiate a little hard, it’s fine. “”
The reason why Washington changes its name into commanders stems from the great criticisms of offensive Redskins for the Amerindians.
The team ended up abandoning the name following George Floyd’s demonstrations, called “the Washington football team” until a major brand change in commanders arrived in 2022.
