DG Khan authorities on the toes for floods

Dera Ghazi Khan:

Strong rains in Koh-e-Suleman, Taunsa, Fort Munro, Dera City and surrounding people cause a flooding situation due to an excessive water influx in different river rivers.

According to an irrigation service report, Kora River Stream has a flow of 17,570 Cuses, Vehova at 20,805 Cuses, Sunghar has 11,540 Cuses and Sori Lund has 29,270 Cuses. Waddor River Stream has a high flood level of 40,611 Cuses and Sakhi Sarwar has an extremely high flood at 32,570 Cusecases, while Mithan has 6,001 Cuses.

The DG Khan District Administration has been alerted as a result of strong strong precipitation predictions by the Pakistan Meteorological Department. In anticipation of potential floods, the staff were deployed in mountain leaves to permanently monitor the rivers.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Khalid visited the Waddor spill, where officials informed him of the capacity of water, drainage, protective embankments and other key problems in the river. He said that high precipitation in the Koh-e-Slaiman and Balutchistan mountain ranges could lead to floods in the district, affecting seven major rivers and pose a risk to the neighboring colonies.

The DC has ordered all the departments concerned to remain on high alert, to ensure the authorization of the river routes, the abolition of encroachments and the awareness of the public.
