A new mysterious Chatgpt mode appeared on certain accounts this week, because many ask the question: what is “studying together”?
The new “Study Together” mode is available in the “Tools” drop -down menu on certain accounts, although it is not clear exactly what the new mode does.
A user on Reddit who has access to “studying together” said, “seems pretty cool. Ask him to teach you something, and that asks you a few questions (like deep research) before making you browse a subject. But that makes you give the answers and tests you!”
We do not know how Openai has selected users for this trial, as in the same Reddit wire discussing the new mode, there is a variety of more account users and free users who are able to use “Study Ensemble”.

There is no information on the moment when “Study Together” will be made available to the wider public, but given the positive response of the testers so far, we may have access to the mysterious new Chatgpt mode as soon as possible.
Last month, Sam Altman alluded to GPT-5 arriving during the summer months of the Western hemisphere, and “studying together” could be part of this launch.
With a new school year to approach the approach, Openai will want to launch “Study Together” for all students just in time for the next university semester. That said, AI is an excellent learning tool in general, so do not be put off by this toy feature only because it seems targeted on students.
