Aryna Sabalenka, a n ° 1 female tennis player in the world, held a narrow victory at the All England Club on Tuesday in London.
Sabalenka’s hard victory against Laura Siegemund has earned the Belarusian tennis star a place in the semi-final of Wimbledon. While Sabalenka seemed happy to go to the next round of the prestigious tournament, after the match in the quarter -final, she challenged the way her words were interpreted.

Sabalenka was questioned to apparently describe his opponent as “boring”.
“You said in advance that Laura had a boring game in a complementary way,” said a journalist.
Sabalenka quickly specified and explained that Siegemund previously described his game as “boring”, which suggests that this has created a frustrating experience for those who compete against her.
“I didn’t say that,” replied the 27 -year -old. “No, no no, I didn’t say that … They asked the question she said she had a boring game. I didn’t say that, just to specify it.”

Sabalenka was finally asked about how she maintained her confidence during the particularly difficult moments of the quarter -final.

“It’s not like it was a boring game. It’s an intelligent game,” said Sabalenka. “She really makes everyone work against her and enter the match against her, you know that you have to work for each point.”

“It doesn’t matter if you are a big server, if you are a big striker, you have to work. You have to run and have to win victory. Honestly, I was just trying to focus on myself and to assure myself that I don’t give it this energy. I didn’t want it to have seen that I was bored or anything by it, even if I was a little at some points.”
Amanda Anisimova beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter -finals of other women. Anisimova will face Sabalenka in Thursday’s semi-finals.
