Wani’s martyrdom has revived the control of cashmere: Jksm

The head of Senior Hurriyat and President of the Jammu-Cachemire Salvation Movement, Altaf Ahmed Bhat, said that the martyrdom of Burhan Muzaffar Wani marked a turning point in the fight for cashmere for freedom, triggering a movement of hope, resilience and global attention.

“He used his voice, not violence, to listen to the world,” said Bhat to a rally in Mirpur commemorating the 9th anniversary of the martyrdom of Burhan. “He has shown that this struggle is not terrorism … It is a cry for justice rooted in international law.”

Organized by refugee families from 1990, the event brought together personalities from Hurriyat, lawyers, members of civil society and journalists, where the speakers paid tribute to Burhan Wani and to all those who led their lives for the freedom of cashmere.

The senior Hurriyat official, Malik Aslam, who also approached the rally, said that the sacrifice of Burhan Wani had immortalized him in the heart of the Kashmir people. Altaf Ahmed Bhat expressed a serious alarm in the face of the health conditions of the Kashmir Political Prisoner in Indian prisons, accusing the Indian government of transforming prisons into slow execution tools.

“The shabir shah fights cancer; Yasin Malik is isolated in lonely isolation; Asiya Andrabi suffers from chronic disease; Zaffar Akbar Bhat, who has had a cerebral hemorrhage, is refused medical supervision; and Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz remains sick and untreated behind.”

Bhat described death in guard at the custody of Ashraf Sehrai and Altaf Fantoush as non -accidental but premeditated.
