The star quarter of the Kansas City chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, would not be delighted if the NFL should add an 18th regular season game to the calendar.
Mahomes, 29, said he wanted to see the best players playing in the biggest games, and adding another match could add more injuries.
“You have seen the number of injuries that have somehow stacked up there at the end of the seasons, and you want the best players to play in the biggest games,” MAHOMES at CNBC told.

“If there was a way to reach 18 games, I am not – I’m not a big fan of that. But if there was a way, I think you have to add goodbye to give more time to guys.”

Part of the reason why the NFL would like to add an 18th match is because it would slide the Super Bowl at the president’s weekend and would allow fans to have the day of leave after the big match.
Only time will tell us if a potential calendar of 18 games will include several weeks off.
