Islamabad:
The Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhry said that the children of the founder incarcerated by PTI, Imran Khan, will have to enter Pakistan after obtaining visas “if they are not Pakistani citizens”. Friday, Chaudhry spoke to journalists in Parliament.
On July 9, Imran – Aleema Kham’s sister – announced that the family’s family members, including her sons Kasim and Sulaiman, would soon be a protest movement.
Addressing the media, Aleema had declared that Imran would direct the demonstration behind bars. “Imran Khan said he would lead the protest movement. He is free in prison, but we are prisoners despite being outside,” she said.
She added that her sons, Suleman and Kasim, would join the movement to support their father after visiting the United States.
Commenting on the move, the PM adviser on political affairs, Rana Sanaullah, said that the Prime Minister’s sons – who live in the United Kingdom with Imran’s first wife, Jemima Goldsmith – would have been arrested if they joined the PTI protest in Pakistan.
Jemima went to X to condemn the declaration. “This does not happen in a democracy or a functional state. It is not in politics. It is a personal vendetta,” she said on Thursday.
Answering a question concerning Imran’s family participation in the next demonstration, the Minister of State said with his sons ” [alleged] girl [Tyrian White] should also come to Pakistan. “”
“If they are Pakistani citizens, visa restrictions will always apply. No local or foreign individual will be authorized to come to Pakistan and take charge,” he added. Chaudhry said that the former parents -in -law of Imran – the Goldsmith family – compete to support the founder of the PTI to date.
In addition, the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Faisal, Karim Kundi, also said that the children of Imran Khan are not out of the reach of the law, and if they try to take charge, they will face legal consequences like any other citizen.
According to a report, Kundi noted that the holding of peaceful demonstrations was right for everyone, including the children of the founder of the PTI, but added that “if they cross the legal line, the law will follow its course”.
Commenting on the double status of nationality of the children of the founder of the PTI, the governor said that if they did not hold Pakistani citizenship, then the case could fall under the counter of the British High Commissioner.
However, he stressed that no one is exempt from the Pakistani law. “Just as the British law applies to Pakistani in the United Kingdom, the Pakistani law will apply to British citizens present in Pakistan,” he said.
Earlier, in May, Suleman and Kasim had publicly responded to their father’s imprisonment and summoned international pressure on Pakistan to guarantee his release.
This was the first case where the brothers talked about the situation of their father, although he was authorized to contact with him every week since November 2023. According to the sons of Imran, these calls were inconsistent and difficult to organize.
In an interview with the influencer of X (formerly Twitter), Mario Nawfal, the brothers explained why they had decided to break their silence.
