I have the impression of trying to follow the pace that everything that is happening in technology is more difficult than ever – that is why we have set up this “in case you miss it” every week, to put you at speed with everything that is happening.
And this week was particularly busy: Samsung has launched new foldables and smartwatches, Amazon has reduced a large label of products for Prime Day, and Google has pushed even more AI updates for us to use.
All of this has happened in the space of seven days, and you can read the strengths below. The Techradar team will be back with another Icymi in seven other days – with even more new technological to digest.
8. The first day offers have landed – and they always go
Techradar staff have written a huge stack of large day offers to orient yourself for the best discounts on the products that you really should think of buying – saving money on everything, phones and laptops to air and streaming services.
We are now in the last stages of the Prime Day event, but there are still attractive offers to conclude because Amazon eliminates more of its stocks: click and travel and see if there is something that attracts you before the special offers have come out.
7. Google Gemini landed on smart watches
Google was busy postponing new updates to its Gemini applications and services, and AI is now ready to replace Google Assistant on smart watches, starting with the new Galaxy Watch 8. From there, it will extend to other OS 6 wear watches in the coming months.
We were promised better notifications, real -time vocal support and answers that include the context. Meanwhile, other Gemini upgrades that also deploy include an improved experience on foldable devices and the circle to search for mobile games.
6. Apple back in liquid glass for iOS 26
Apple introduces a major overhaul called Liquid Glass on all its software platforms this year, with more rounded, translucent and detailed menus and buttons. However, there have been certain concerns on the part of users around readability.
With the latest beta version of iOS 26 development, Apple responded to these concerns by significantly recalling the glass effect. Not everyone is satisfied with the revised look, but in our opinion, it makes sense before the full public version in September.
5. Ikea revealed two cheap Bluetooth speakers
IKEA’s home experts have launched two new Bluetooth speakers that will not damage your bank balance too much, but will add a touch of style and sound entertainment to any room: NATTBADD and BLOMBPRAKT (which is also a lamp).
Behind its styles of old -fashioned retro radio, the Nattbadd also offers Spotify Tap, so that you can take a break and resume listening with just a tap on the unit. We have details on prices, color options and Ikea’s wider commitment to the Smart Home standard.
4. Gopro has teased his long -awaited Max 2 action cam
We have been waiting for a long time a successor to Gopro Max for a very long time (which launched in 2019), and there are now some official news: GoPro itself has published a teaser for Gopro Max 2, suggesting that the device will be launched in the very close future.
The Gopro Max 2 will be a 360 -degree action camera, such as its predecessor, and will take an increasing number of competitors in space, including DJI and Insta360. We still do not have an official launch date for you, but there should not be more before there is more news.
3. Samsung has refreshed its Galaxy Watch range
Techradar was present at the unpacked event of Big Samsung Galaxy this week, as well as foldable phones (more of which in a moment), we saw the launch of two new SmartWatches watches for 2025: The Galaxy Watch 8 and The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
The classic is undoubtedly the most interesting of the pair, since Samsung jumped this model last year, and it brings back the physical rotary telescope which makes such a difference when you try to work on the different functions and features of the watch.
2. Veo 3 from Google has obtained a new impressive AI video tip
Google’s VEO 3 video generator continues to impress us, and its capacities have been extended for people on Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra Plans. He is now able to take a static image and transform it into a short video clip, with the details and directions you provide.
Based on the examples that we have already seen from the functionality in action, it is possible to obtain excellent results with this new AI tool – a mini stadium concert in a cardboard box, etc. – And we have instructions on how you can try it for yourself.
1. Samsung has treated new flagship folds for us
After months of leaks and rumors, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE – and we have already been able to spend practical time with the new foldables during the non -excited launch event Galaxy.
We cannot share our first impressions so far, but Samsung really seems to have lifted the folding phones mark with what it has managed to achieve here: the new devices are thinner, more elegant and more powerful than the models they replace.
