Pindi Orders Expansion of Sahut Bazaars

Rawalpindi:

The number of sahulat bazaars in the Rawalpindi division will be increased to provide essential products to citizens at reasonable prices.

Chairing a meeting, the engineer of the Rawalpindi commissioner, Amir Khattak, asked all the assistant commissioners to identify appropriate locations for the creation of these bazaars and to obtain the required NoCs. He underlined the timely configuration of the markets to ensure the availability of affordable goods for the public.

The commissioner also ordered pricing magistrates to remain active in the field and to ensure transparency in all operations.

He called for strict action against persons involved in creating artificial inflation, declaring that providing relief to the people is the absolute priority of the government and all available resources should be used for this purpose.

The meeting was followed by the deputy commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema, the additional coordination of Commissioner Syed Nazarat Ali, the additional deputy commissioner finance and the planning Ramisha Javed, CO Municipal Corporation and other officials.

The officials informed the commissioner of the price verification operations carried out in the last 24 hours in various Tehsils of the Rawalpindi district.

A total of 4,761 inspections were carried out in Gujar Khan, 3850 in Kahuta, 1500 in Kallar Syedan, 5064 in Rawalpindi Cantt, 5230 in town, 2948 in Saddar and 4995 in Taxila.

During these operations, 65 overload cases were reported. The authorities inflicted fines amounting to Rs279,500, sealed seven stores and arrested 13 people.
