Super Bowl champion Ndamukong Suh announced his NFL retirement on Saturday.
SUH, 38, played for the last time in the NFL during the 2022 season, with the Eagles of Philadelphia. The quintuple All-Pro said that he “honored” a wish for his late father by retiring.
“On July 12, 2024, was the most difficult day of my life. It was the day when I said goodbye to my father, the man who raised me, shaped me, challenged me and I thought in me before believing in me. He was not only a father. He was my idol, my coach and my anchoring.

Suh was drafted by the Lions of Detroit with the overall choice n ° 2 of the NFL 2010 draft. The defensive tackle made the pro Bowl in four of its five seasons with the Lions.

Suh played five seasons with the Lions, three with the dolphins of Miami, one with the Rams of Los Angeles, three with the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay and his last season with the Eagles.
SUH was a member of the Buccaneers team who won the Super Bowl 2020. Through the team’s playoff race, SUH raised 10 combined plated and 1.5 bags.

In 199 regular career season games, SUH recorded 600 combined plated, 71.5 bags, interception, five forced escapes and three career recovery.
SUH wrote that he had been preparing for retirement for “years”.
“Football was my passion, but it was never my end of the game,” wrote Suh.
