The allegations of corruption shake the Afghan e-visa probe

Islamabad:

A torsion emerged in the investigation into a scandal involving the illegal publication of electronic visa to Afghan nationals.

Two officials of the FIA anti-human contraband cell, including a sub-inspector, were found involved in corruption. FIA director general, Raja Riffat Mukhtar, took immediate action by arresting the accused and forming a joint investigation team (JIT).

According to sources, the FIA had previously discovered a network involving officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PID, who facilitate the illegal deliverance of electronic visas to Afghan nationals through false sponsorships.

Six suspects, including the information assistant Pid Nader Raheem and several Afghan nationals, were already in a state of arrest.

During the survey, the FIA DG received credible information suggesting that some officials were collusion with suspects and required bribes in exchange for preferential treatment. An investigation was launched under the supervision of the director of the Islamabad Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari area.

The Waseem Ahmed sub-inspector and the Constable Aqib Mehmood were arrested by the FIA anti-corruption circle for having pretended to have pretended RS2 million whores of the Zubair suspect during his pre-trial detention, promising to facilitate his conditions and transfer him to judicial custody. The FIA formed a jit of four members led by deputy director Nauman Khalil, including the Shams Khan, Shehryar and Agent Mehdi sub-inspectors, to investigate more. Authorities have confirmed that six suspects – Abdul Aziz, Ahmed Sakhi, Atif Ahmed, Nader Raheem Abbasi (PID head), Abrar Ahmed and Zubair Ahmed – were arrested in the E -visa case.
