Nature unleashes fury; 15 other dead

In one of the most punishing spells in the fury of the current monsoon, thunderstorms, sudden floods and high-speed winds left at least nine dead and 62 injured in Punjab alone, while six others died in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa while the toll continues to rise, the officials confirmed on Monday.

While the dark clouds tear the sky and unleashed torrential showers, whole districts found themselves overwhelmed, the roofs crashed like card houses, while lightning crossed the heavens with fatal precision.

In the past 24 hours, the monsoon has become tragic, affirming at least nine lives in Punjab alone and injuring more than 60 years, while the chaos waved from Rawalpindi to Rajanpur and beyond.

Meanwhile, the national toll of molly incidents since the end of June has increased to 111, according to government data, children representing almost half of the deaths.

The brutal rain fate has beaten several parts of the country with relentless strength, paralyzing infrastructure, flooding the low zones and eliminating electrical networks.

In Lahore, a 20 -year -old has been killed when the roof of his house collapsed, leaving four other injured. In the region of Jagiyan of Manga Mandi, another roof has sold, injuring two children – Rabia, 12 years old and Shehbaz, eight years.

Earlier in the day, Calamity hit a neighboring village when a roof gave in, trapping residents under the debris. Two children were miraculously saved from rubble and emergency transported to Thq hospital.

In Mohra Sharif, nearby, another T-Fer roof collapsed under the weight of stagnant rainwater, leaving four to five more injured.

In Rawalpindi, the tragedy struck on the M2 motorway near Chakri exchanges when a passenger bus skids on a rain road and overturned. Four people, including Samina, 50, died on the spot, while 22 others were injured.

The injured were transported urgently to DHQ CHAKWAL, to DHQ RAWALPINDI and PIMS Hospital. The other deceased has not yet been identified.

In Okara Naemabad, Lightning cost two teenagers’ lives – Anam, 16 and Asad, 17 – in a flash of nature. A third teenager, Shanza, 17, was seriously injured.

Okara has also seen multiple injuries to Dipalpur and the surrounding area, where fragile roofs and limits collapsed in the showers.

Elsewhere in Punjab, Minchinabad Tehsil from Bahawalnagar was seized by sorrow when the roof of a Madrassa gave in to Basti Rasheed Kot on Pakpattan Road.

Two children died instantly while 14 others were injured – 12 of them were taken to Thq Minchinabad. In the villages of Arifwala 161-EB and 147-eb, the houses fell, injuring two residents.

In the Basti Sithari of Muzaffargarh, a wall collapsed an injured man, while a hotel roof collapsed at Chowk Sarwar Shaheed near Kot Addu.

Meanwhile, in another road accident incident, Van skidled on the Indus motorway in Rajanpur, injuring another, and two others were injured in Chak 137 / 9L in Sahiwal when a wooden mount roof fell.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Farooq Ahmad confirmed that Punjab alone recorded at least nine deaths and 62 injuries due to intense rain and gusts since Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported six deaths – a man, a woman and four children – in districts such as Khyber, Malakand, Kohat and Bajaur.

A child was injured. The PDMA said that sudden floods have also caused partial damage to at least three houses. Rescue efforts are underway.

In total, since the start of the monsoon season at the end of June, at least 111 people, including 53 children, have lost their lives to electrocution, sudden floods, the collapse of buildings and lightning blows, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

However, the sky shows no sign of mercy for the moment, according to the Pakistani meteorological department, heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning from July 14 to 17 of Punjab, KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Cashmere are expected.

Warnings have also been issued for landslides in the regions of Murrier, Galyat, Manshra, Swat and Northern Mountain. Urban floods remain an urgent threat in densely populated areas, where the storm sewers are already suffocated.

In accordance with the orders of the Minister -in -Chief Punjab, the director general of the PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, said that all the assistant commissioners of the province had been placed on alert. Municipal and emergency intervention services were invited to execute their emergency plans.

Citizens were invited to avoid unnecessary travel, avoiding electric posts and staying away from vulnerable structures.

Tourists were invited to postpone trips to the hills. For any emergency, people are advised to contact Rescue 1122 or the PDMA assistance line at 1700.
