Lahore:
By hearing the requests for surety of the leader of the PTI Ijaz Chaudhry in four cases registered against him as part of the division bench of May 9, 2023, riots, a division bench of the High Court of Lahore (LHC) led by Judge Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi asked for the file of the procedure in the court of first instance on Wednesday.
The deputy prosecutor general informed the court of details of a case, declaring that there were 16 accused, some of which were under pre-stopped bond, while others had been declared proclaimed against the offenders.
The founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, also obtained a deposit in the case.
The Challan of the case had been submitted to court, declarations of witnesses to the accusation had been recorded and the counter-examination of some of them was also completed. He said other details will be shared before the next hearing date.
He informed the bench that the advocacy pleadings of Ijaz Chaudhry, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and Shafqat Mehmood in the case had been rejected.
