Karachi:
A year after being brutally mutilated by an owner who cut his leg into the district of Sanghar, Cammie The camel started again on the four legs on Tuesday with the help of a prosthetic member, creating a euphoric feeling among his caregivers.
She had her leg before who would have been cut by an owner in June 2024, as a punishment for having sought in her field for fodder, for which six suspects were placed in pre -trial detention.
She was collected by the Benji project for animal welfare in Karachi, where she spent more than a year.
On Tuesday, the refuge provided an update that Cammie had defended the first time since its mutilation, as well as a video showing that it gets used to walking with its new prosthetic leg.
“It was a year of tears, backhand, detoxification, pain and quiet perseverance. A year when we were told to abandon, to move on, to stop delaying the inevitable. But we have chosen to support each other. And today, it was held for all of us.”
The refuge thanked his team and his supporters, as well as the Mna Shazia Marri, the PPP senator Quratulain Marri and the Sindh government for their “unshakable support and their confidence in [the team’s] Mission “. The Sindh government had already undertaken to cover the cost of treatment.
The two sisters had taken a severe opinion from the camel mutilation incident. In a joint statement last year, they said that veterinary doctors referred them to CDRS and that the rescue of the camel was a “joint effort”.
Shazia said today that there was “no greater feeling than when months of hard work, care and constant efforts are paid!” While the latter said: “A devoted service on temporary indignation every day. You stayed long after the temporarily furious had forgotten their existence. Everyone in the team continues to take care of Cammie – it is the superstars!”
