Baseball players in minor leagues had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the automated ball ball (ABS) system. The players of the major league were presented there during the spring training, but once the regular season, the human referees judged whether a land had fallen into the striking area.

The challenge system, which sparked a certain controversy in the world of baseball, made its prime time debut on Tuesday evening in Atlanta during the MLB 2025 star match.

It did not take long to the ABS system to affect the middle of the mid -summer.

At the bottom of the first round, the launcher of the American league Tarik Skubal in Padres in the inner field player Manny Machado was called a ball. The decision led to a 1-2 count instead of a removal of the stick. But a call was made to the ABS Défi system, which sent Machado to the canoe with a withdrawal.

“I’m not a fan of the abs,” Buxton told PK Press Club Digital in the American clubhouse on Tuesday, just a few hours before the Umpire System robot made its debut during the Star Match in Atlanta.

“ I thought they were joking ”: the thrill and the confusion of the first swing-off of the stars of MLB

“This is why baseball is like that now. This is why you receive crazy Instagram messages, Twitter messages now. ABS seems just to make things a little more complicated (because) if you can bet if this launcher (is) will launch a strike or not. … It’s wild enough for me.”

Buxton says that Pete Rose’s baseball career should be respected

“I don’t know how many people will get 4,000 strokes,” the 31 -year -old told PK Press Club Digital told. “In my opinion, it is quite wild that it was not in the temple of fame to be able to see it. It is just one of those (things) where, give him respect. (No other player has obtained) so successful, so give him respect.”

In May, the MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced Rose, “Sho schoolss” Joe Jackson and other deceased players were removed from the “ineligible permanent list of the League”.
