The former gymnast LSU Tigers Olivia Dunne spoke of a horrible injury that she suffered when she was younger who essentially broke her dreams of becoming an American Olympian.
The native of New Jersey began his foray into elite gymnastics in 2014 and was added to the national team and started making her way to the level of senior elite before committing to LSU, where she won a national championship with the program before the end of her collegial career.

Dunne explained “What is your story? With Stephanie McMahon” that she suffered the devastating injury in 2018.
“I was actually in competition on an ankle injured at the 2018 United States championships and, yes, part of my ankle bone died.” It healed a little. It stopped bothering myself. I went to university after that, but it was so painful. It was a bit of my first injuries.
“I have never suffered surgery, which is a little crazy for a gymnast. And I said to myself, I think that if I just give myself the time to heal, I can heal without surgery. But it is something that I am proud. I have never needed surgery as a gymnast, which is very rare.”

Dunne was able to compete in LSU until an injury has finally derailed his last year on the program.
She was one of the most followed athletes on social networks since she joined the LSU. It has more than 8 million followers on Tiktok and 5.4 million others on Instagram. She helped Tigers in a national championship in 2024, but her last year with LSU derailed due to an injury.

Since then, she has been seen by applauding her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, while he made waves in MLB with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
