Govt to act once the PTI protest plan takes place

Islamabad:

Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi said the government would develop its strategy to treat the protest of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) scheduled for August 5 once the party has completed its preparations.

On Friday, during a meeting with journalists at the Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Minister said that Federal Constabulary (FC) will be provided to training on modern lines, the addition of FC is converted into a federal force similar to its counterpart in the United States. The wages of FC personnel have been revised on tie with those of other forces, said that the Minister, adding that their Shuhadah package was not even a quarter of the other institutions. This, he said, has also been improved.

The FC force consists of 24,000 people who remain the same, said Naqvi, adding that the government will transform it into better strength.

The Minister refused to know if US President Donald Trump and Marshal Syed Asim Murnir discussed Imran Khan’s future at their meeting.

The Minister stressed that no decision had yet been made with regard to the initiation of retired or service officers.
