More specifically, Kuo believes that Apple will use metal display plates pierced in laser in his foldable phone. Earlier this week, Kuo wrote that this feature will help “distribute and control flexion stress” – if it is left unanswered, this stress can cause “hardware fatigue and permanent deformation”, causing folds on the phone screen.
Now, it seems that Samsung wants in the act, Kuo reporting that the company will also use these metal plates pierced in laser in its next foldable phone. The current Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, does not use these plates, which results in the type of visible seam that Apple and Samsung now want to avoid.
