The Pakistani team has a good mix of players to play aggressive cricket: Salman Agha

Dhaka: Pakistani captain T20i Salman Ali Agha said that their team for the next three -game series against Bangladesh was made up of players capable of playing an aggressive cricket brand.

Agha, while addressing the pre-series press conference here on Saturday, expressed his confidence in the ability of his team to offer a solid performance in the next series, scheduled for Sunday.

He described the series to challenge, but hoped for a positive result, noting that the players are not under pressure and will play aggressive cricket.

He recognized the strength of the Bangladesh team, saying: “It is a competitive team and take up difficult challenges to their opponents in the country and abroad, but we are also ready to play aggressive cricket.”

Agha added that after having participated in the Premier League of Bangladesh (BPL), he and several other players have a good understanding of local conditions.

He noted that the team had also trained accordingly during their preparatory camp in Karachi, with land designed to simulate Dacca conditions.

“Understanding the conditions is the key. We have prepared to adapt our game according to pitch and match situations. Our experience of playing in the BPL gives us an advantage here,” he said.

The captain also praised senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, calling them world -class players who have always played for Pakistan.

He pointed out that the current team has the right mix of players to play T20 striker cricket.

“Babar and Rizwan are world class. They have incredibly served Pakistan. The T20 cricket is evolving every six months every year.

“We have players in the team that corresponds to the style of cricket that we want to play. There is no pressure, our goal is only to play the right cricket in this series,” he concluded.

Agha runs the shortest side with the star drummers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan since last year.

Pace Seed Shaheen Shah Afridi was rested for the three -game series, with Haris Rauf sewing, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim unavailable due to injuries.

Agha said that missing players could still be taken into account for the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next year.

“We have changed the way we want to play, but we are convinced of our accumulation and our management,” said Agha.

“We are going for this series with many preparations because Bangladesh can be a difficult team in their domestic conditions.”

For UNIVERSED, the T20I series trophy of three games between Pakistan and Bangladesh was unveiled during a ceremony organized in a local hotel in Dacca on Saturday.

The captains on both sides, Salman Ali Agha of Pakistan and the Das Liton du Bangladesh, participated in a photo session with the trophy.

The green shirts will face three T20is against Bangladesh on July 20, 22 and 24, with Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka which should host all the matches.

The series marks a revenge match between the two games after their last meeting in May, where Pakistan sealed a clean 3-0 scanning at home.
