Mark Consuelos initially rejected live co-organization with his wife, Kelly Ripa.
Ripa, 54, revealed during a recent appearance on the Not thin but not fatty Podcast while recalling the first days of co-hosting a show alongside her husband.
“It was really convincing Mark,” she said. “Because at the start, when they came to Mark, he categorically refused.”
She admitted the same thing: “I also thought that it was a kind of bad idea. I was like a husband and a woman who welcomes a morning program is different from a husband and a woman acting together or the production of something together.”
Despite their first hesitation, the show succeeded with the fans. “The public really answers Mark because Mark has an attitude without F ***”, “said Kelly.
“There is no artifice with him. If he hates something, he hates aloud, no matter how much we are supposed to love him. And when he thinks that something is stupid, he says it no matter how much we are supposed to pretend to love whatever the thing.”
Ripa awarded their 31 -year relationship for helping them to remain authentic in the air. “We are not worried about protecting everyone’s feelings. We both say what we are in mind and I suppose people find it relatable.”
Consuelos, who shares three adult children – Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22, with Ripa, officially joined the show in 2023 after the departure of Ryan Seacrest.
Ripa also revealed a bane to work with her husband on live television.
“He does not listen to me frequently, and he will settle me while we are live,” she shared on the podcast.
