A road accident occurred near Chowk Chorhatta on Industes Highway, Taunsa Road, where a bus collided with a patrolling motorcycle of the Dolphin Force, causing the death of an officer and serious injuries on Saturday.
The coach struck Dolphin officers forced when they were routine. The officer Rais Khan Raja died on the spot due to the severity of the impact, while his colleague Muhammad Ijaz suffered critical injuries.
The 1122 rescue teams arrived immediately on the scene and transferred the two officers to the Trauma Center of the University Hospital of Allama Iqbal.
After receiving the report, the district police officer (DPO) Syed Ali rushed to the scene and then visited the hospital to inquire about the injured officer.
He ordered the police station concerned to take rapid legal action. DPO Syed Ali also asked the hospital staff to provide the best possible medical care for the injured officer.
Addressing the media, DPO Syed Ali said that the coach driver was recklessly led and at high speed, leading to the fatal accident.
He confirmed that Rais Khan, who was doing his duty at the time, was martyred, while Ijaz Ahmed remains under treatment for serious injuries.
The police arrested the driver of the coach and recorded a case against him for negligence and reckless conduct. Other legal proceedings are underway.
DPO Syed Ali announced that the martyred officer Rais Khan would be resting with the police honors.
