In anticipation of heavy monsoon rain, the administration of the district intensified the precautionary measures and issued an ultimatum for the immediate evacuation of residents living in dilapidated structures and areas subject to floods.
The directive targets in particular occupants of dangerous buildings and residents along the belt delighted in Tandlianwala, urging them to move to safer areas to avoid potential loss of life.
The action is part of a wider emergency plan of the monsoon implemented under the supervision of the deputy commissioner Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir.
A high-level meeting chaired by the additional sub-commissioner (Revenue) Rana Musa examined the preparation of the departments concerned.
The session was followed by the deputy commissioners of the city, Sadar, Tandlianwala and managers of WASA, health, local government, municipal committees and other departments.
Speaking in the meeting, ADC Rana Musa said that guaranteeing the security of citizens and their property remains absolute priority.
He ordered all departments to activate teams in the field and deploy the necessary resources without delay.
Instructions have been issued for immediate announcements of the mosque to alert the public, in particular those of structurally weak houses, to move.
Citizens were also invited to eliminate stagnant water roofs to avoid structural damage or accidents.
The drainage and drawing operations were priority in housing companies and urban centers.
WASA officials were invited to remain active during precipitation, to ensure the preparation of machines and to respond quickly to complaints.
