The chief minister of Balutchistan, Sarfraz Bugti, ordered a quick and in-depth investigation into the brutal murder of a man and a woman, after the circulation of an online video which triggered the indignation nationwide, he emerged on Sunday.
The disturbing video, widely shared on social networks, shows the apparent murder of two people in a non -disclosed place. The images triggered the anger of the public and call for an urgent action. The incident is perceived as a murder of honor.
In a press release published by the Secretariat of the Chief, BUGTI asked the law enforcement organizations to locate the crime scene and to arrest all the persons involved without delay.
“The rule of law will not be compromised. Those who dispute the brief of the State will be firmly treated. No one will be authorized to take over in hand,” said Bugti.
Balutchistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind condemned killings, describing them as “reprehensible at all levels” and “a serious insult to societal values and human dignity”.
He assured the public that the provincial government would take all legal measures to ensure that justice is done.
“The government of Balutchistan will not remain a silent spectator in the face of such cruelty. All legal means will be used to translate those responsible for justice,” said Rind.
The provincial government also called on the public to identify suspects. Citizens are invited to share any information that can help locate people involved.
