England will stage the next three finals of the world test championship after the successful accommodation of the first three game games, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Sunday.

The last final took place last month, when South Africa was crowned champion for the first time after defeating Australia holders in Lord’s.

Nearly 110,000 people crossed the London field doors for a four -day test.

India would have been wishing to welcome the next final in two years, but England received the finals of the 2027, 2029 and 2031 editions.

During its annual conference in Singapore, the ICC noted “the successful history of England in the accommodation of recent finals”, even if the Ben Stokes team has not yet reached the unique centerpiece.

“We are absolutely delighted that England and Wales were chosen to welcome the next three finals of the ICC World Test Championship,” said Richard Gould, Director General of the Board of Directors of England and Wales.

“It is a testimony of passion that fans of this country have for this precious format of the game and the will of supporters around the world to travel here for these games.”

Nine teams participate in the WTC, and each nation plays six other teams – three at home and three – for a two -year cycle.

The teams are classified by percentage of points won because they play a different number of matches in these six series.
