Islamabad:
The government called WhatsApp and the international community as a whole to take immediate measures against the TEHREEK-E-TALIBAN PAKISTAN (TTP) prohibited terrorist organization, which uses the messaging platform to spread violent propaganda.
The Minister of State in the Interior Tallal Chaudrysenator raised the alarm in an article on X (formerly Twitter), declaring that the TTP – a terrorist group designed by the United States – has operated WhatsApp channels to send loose messages promoting its extremist ideology.
“Pakistan has no tolerance for these terrorist groups and offers huge sacrifices to ensure world peace,” said Chaudry.
He urged WhatsApp and the international community to cooperate to block these accounts and develop algorithms to automatically detect and suspend these handles.
