Islamabad:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) has obtained four of the seven general seats in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elections, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.
Murad Saeed de PTI received 26 unexpected votes, leading the party count. The other PTI winners on general seats are Mirza Afridi, Faisal Javed and Noorul Haq Qadri, who obtained 22, 21 and 21 votes respectively.
Opposition candidates Maulana Attaul Haq Dervish, Talha Mehmood and Niaz Ahmed also won general seats with 18, 17 and 18 votes respectively.
In the Technocrat category, Azam Swati of Pti and Dilawar Khan of PML-N came out victorious, receiving 89 and 54 votes respectively.
On the seats reserved for women, Rubina Naz of PTI and Rubina Khalid of PPP won with 89 and 52 votes. Two votes in this category were rejected during the counting.
According to the electoral commission, 25 candidates were in the running for 11 seats in the Senate – 16 for seven general seats, five for two technocratic seats and four for two seats for women.
