- Windows 11 could get a new “shared audio” option
- The functionality, identified in the tests, allows audio pipes with several speakers
- It is not yet clear how it still works, because it is just hidden in the tests in an early form, and not to live in a boils of preview
If you have always wanted to play music (or anything else) from your Windows 11 PC via more than one speaker, it seems that your multiple dreams come true.
At least on the basis of the results of a well -known leak in X, Phantomofearth, which has done usual comb via hidden bits of Windows 11, and found the relevant functionality, then activated it with a configuration utility (in a version of preview).
Windows 11 gets a quick “shared audio” parameter to allow you to easily play audio via several output devices! (Hidden in the last dev / beta cus) pic.twitter.com/aalaj68oszJuly 19, 2025
As you can see in the post above, the functionality is excited via a “shared audio” option in the quick settings of Windows 11, and it is apparently found in the current versions of DEV and Beta of the operating system.
Click on it and you are presented with a panel that allows you to select multiple output devices to receive audio from the PC. Check the speakers you want to use, and Windows 11 will kill the sound throughout all.
Analysis: looks like a plan
What we are not shown in this leak is whether the connection can be wireless (via Bluetooth), or must be wired (with a cable), or even if two Bluetooth speakers can both be connected for simultaneous reading.
We assume that the capacity is not yet functional – if it were, probably, the flight would have shared more details on its operation. Remember that it is not live in the tests – the shared audio remains the work in the background of Windows 11 for the moment – and it may never be done. However, it is logical that Microsoft would like to provide this functionality, since it has been expected for a long time.
In fact, there is a bit of a head of the head why Microsoft did not allow this in a version of Windows there are several moons. Although it can certainly be something of a niche feature, it is undoubtedly to use certain people – you just need to consult the online forum publications to find out how to do Windows. The answer to this question previously was to install a third -party application, but have the native capacity in Windows 11 – and easily accessible via fast parameters – is clearly a useful addition for the operating system.
Assuming that Microsoft is progressing with the audio capacity of sharing, of course, and I bet that it should be put online in test buildings for too long.
