In a major step towards environmental reform, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the green taxonomy of Pakistan, proposed by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination.
The Minister of Finance welcomed this decision, calling it “late for a long time” and crucial to unlock green funding.
According to a press release published by the Ministry of Finance, Reunion – referred by the Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb – deliberated on a wide range of articles on the agenda linked to industrial growth, environmental sustainability, skills development, housing and telecommunications.
The ECC examined and approved a report by the Ministry of Commerce on improving industrial competitiveness and promoting growth led by export in the steel sector. The proposal aligns with the national prices policy 2025–30 and aims to reduce production costs and stimulate exports.

The ECC Greenlit has a regime of grant and risk sharing to promote affordable housing funding, aimed at extending access to low -cost housing. He also guided the development of an integrated database in the housing sector, in consultation with the federal and provincial stakeholders, to improve the implementation.
The Committee also approved a summary of the Ministry of Commerce to file an appeal to the Supreme Court against a decision of the High Court of Lahore which granted the concessions of the gas / RLNG prices to Ghani Glass Ltd, noting that the energy concessions of the export sectors had already been withdrawn and were no longer in force for no industry.
In the development of skills, the ECC approved a public guarantee of 1 billion rupees with the obligation to impact skills (PSIB) of Pakistan to support the vocational training programs based on the results. The committee advised the ministry to move to public-private partnerships and to reduce dependence on sovereign guarantees.
The Ministry of Industries and Production has informed ECC on plant ghee and oil market trends. Although national actions are sufficient, the Committee spoke concerned about the slow transmission of the drop in world prices to national consumers.

He urged close coordination with the Pakistan Competition Commission, the National Price Supervisory Committee (NPMC) and the provincial authorities to prevent the card card card.
In the telecommunications sector, the ECC approved a proposal from the Ministry of Computer Science and Telecommunications to revise the costs for radio services (RBS). He has made regular revisions of these charges every three to five years in accordance with economic changes and technological progress.
The meeting, which also attended by the Minister of Power, Sardar Awais Leghari, the Minister of Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, and the Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, also approved a revised advisory committee for the publication of the IMT spectrum, a critic to improve wide -band access.
Finally, the ECC approved the official recognition of the rupture and recycling as an industry, as proposed by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. The Committee asked the ministry to share the energy consumption data in the sector with the energy division to assess the impact of the application of industrial power tariffs instead of commercial power.
