Three terrorists sponsored by India were killed in Swat: CTD

In a joint control operation against terrorism, the Swat Police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed three key agents of Fitna al-Khawarij, an identified group as an Indian indicator, including a high-value target with an RS2 million RS bonus on Saturday, Express News reported.

According to the CTD, the terrorists were involved in attacks on the security forces and the murders of police staff. Among the deceased was Ajmal alias Waqas, accused of having murdered members of a village defense council and listed as the most sought -after terrorist.

The second suspect was identified as Matiullah, also known as Ishaq and Junaid. The third terrorist killed was Rahimullah Rehmani, also known as Rohullah.

The CTD said the terrorists were also linked to the IED attacks, to extortion and were part of a network receiving foreign funding to spread terror in the region.

Regional police officer Sher Akbar Khan described the operation a decisive blow for the operational wings of Fitna al-Khawarij in Swat and the surrounding area, affirming continuous efforts to eradicate the group.

Inspector General of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed congratulated the CTD and SWAT police for success and stressed that the operations against the terrorists are intensified to ensure lasting peace in the province.
