Islamabad:
Pakistan welcomed the regional conference of chiefs of defense leaders on Saturday, bringing together senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in what is hailed as an important stage towards the strengthening of the cooperation of regional security and military diplomacy.
Organized under the theme “Strengthening obligations, securing peace”, the high-level gathering aimed at strengthening security collaboration, improving joint training initiatives and sharing best practices in the fight against terrorism and other areas related to defense, according to inter-service public relations (ISPR).

“In a time defined by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges, deeper military cooperation, strategic dialogue and mutual trust are imperative. Pakistan remains determined to work with partner countries for a safe and prosperous region, ”said the COAS.
Participants’ defense leaders have made detailed discussions on the dynamics of regional security, cooperation against terrorism, the evolution of strategic trends in Central and South Asia and coordinated humanitarian responses during crises.
The delegates also expressed a shared determination to maintain peace, respect national sovereignty and face common threats – in particular terrorism, cyber -in -work and violent extremism.
The participants congratulated the leadership and hospitality of Pakistan, qualifying the conference an important step in promoting inclusive and prospective defense diplomacy.
The event highlighted the continuous role of Pakistan as a key director in the formation of a secure, interconnected and cooperative regional security environment – anchored in mutual interests and regional solidarity.
Development is considered another sign of the growing profile of Pakistan on regional and international fronts.
Observers believe that Pakistan plays its cards well, because it is currently engaged with major powers and other regional stakeholders.

The army chief was in Beijing earlier this week, where he held a series of meetings with the best Chinese civilian and military leaders. Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar met on Friday the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, in what the officials described as a sign of the evolving diplomatic awareness of Pakistan.
Secretary Rubio appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran, and also praised Islamabad for his role in preserving regional stability.
Later, speaking to the Atlantic Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dar said that Pakistan wanted to serve as a bridge between the United States and China. He recalled that Pakistan had previously brought the two powers closer and was ready to play this role again.
