Five people died and 17 other injuries were injured when demonstrators were dismissed during a demonstration in front of a military installation against the murder of a girl in the Khyber district Tirah in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), former tribal said on Sunday.
The demonstration ended after the negotiations between former tribal and security officials. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the shooting in the Bagh Maidan region in the Tirah valley.
The tension entered the area after the death of a 10 year old girl the other day. After the incident, relatives of the victim and local citizens reached the main door of the brigade seat this morning to protest. The demonstrators shouted slogans against the incident and set fire to a dispensary.
In the meantime, the shooting broke out in which three people died on the spot. Later, two other injured people succumbed to their injuries by going to hospital. Police sources said 17 injured had been transported to a local hospital, but six of them were then transferred to Peshawar hospitals and seven to the Orakzai district.
Fifteen injured were identified as Ajmal, Abdul Halim, Ayub Khan, Siraj, Jartaj, Baitullah, Aamir Hassan, Rehmanullah, Muhammad Sadiq, Nazar Muhammad and Abu Bakar – all the residents of Zakhakhel – Khan Zeb and Muhammad Javed of Shlobar; And Sher Zaman, Qasim and Saeed Khan by Malk Din Khel.
Later, the former tribals met with security officials and submitted their requests: case against the people involved in the death of the girl; The holidays of houses occupied by local citizens ending with unnecessary harassment in safety and financial assistance stations for families of the deceased.
The security forces accepted 1.5 million compensation rupees to the families of each deceased and 200,000 rupees with each injured. After a partial agreement on requests, the demonstrators ended the demonstration and the situation began to return to normality.
In Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow on the martyrdom of innocent and peaceful citizens due to the dismissal of Fitna al-Khawarij and ordered the authorities to provide immediate medical assistance to the wounded.
The KP -chief Minister of KP, Gandapur, also expressed deep sadness and sorrow with the Tirah incident and announced financial assistance of 10 million rupees for the heirs of each deceased and 2.5 million rupees for each injured, according to an express report.
The chief minister called a Jirga Peshawar, made up of former and public representatives so that local feelings and concerns can be heard. He ordered the district administration and institutions to strengthen public communication and maintain order.
Gandapur said that a series of old tribal jirgas would start next week at divisional and provincial levels. A member of the National Assembly of the IQBAL Afridi region and the member of the KP assembly, Abdul Ghani Afridi, condemned the incident.
