The German consul general of Karachi announced the immediate suspension of the visa services for citizens of the non -European Union (EU) until further notice.
In an official declaration published on X, the consulate confirmed that the suspension applies to all non-UNE candidates, including those who have already confirmed visa appointments. The consulate said that these meetings had been canceled and will not be postponed.
The candidates concerned were invited to re-register for meetings once the consulate resumes its services. Updates on the situation will be issued as the Consulate, said the consulate, expressing the appreciation of the understanding of the public during the disruption.
Earlier this month, Sweden announced the resumption of visa services in Islamabad following bilateral political consultations (BPC) between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and Sweden, held in Stockholm on July 2.

As of July 7, Pakistani nationals can request a Pakistan Schengen visa for Sweden visits up to 90 days.
The Pakistani delegation for bilateral consultations in Stockholm was headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Europe), while the Swedish party was led by the Director General of World Affairs of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
