- AMD Threadripper 9995WX Tops Passmark with 174,825 points in MultithREAD performance tests
- With 96 cores and 192 threads, it crushes the landmarks intended for server quality processors
- The Threadripper 9995WX even surpasses the EPYC 9755 AMD of more than 5% in tests
The AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 9995WX has become the fastest processor in Passmark’s multithread performance prize list, affirming a score of 174,825 points.
This new reference positions the 96 -core processor in front of AMD’s own Epyc 9755, which drags around 5% in multithread workloads with 166,328 points.
This prospect is remarkable not only because of the tight margin but also because of the separate market segments for which the two chips are intended: Threadripper for high -end workstations and Epyc for servers of data centers.
Built for extreme performance in working class work systems
Launched in the second quarter of 2025, the PRO 9995WX Threadripper is built around the STR5 socket and has a basic 2.5 GHz clock speed with a boost speed reaching 5.4 GHz.
It is delivered with 192 threads, and its typical 350W TDP reflects the scale of its calculation capacities.
With a 384 MB Mass L3 cache and substantial L1 and L2 cache provisions, the CPU is designed to manage highly parallelized tasks.
These features show AMD’s intention to offer extreme performance on high -end office and workstation markets where parallel calculation power is essential.
In the reference tests, it delivered 1,220,090 MOPS / SEC in whole mathematics, 707,600 MOPS / SEC in floating points operations and treated 3.6 million kilo-kilo-Accements per second in data compression.
Its single -thread performance reached 4,565 mops / sec, which placing it 45th among 5,287 CPUs in this metric.
The new Threadripper Pro 9995WX is 21% faster than the 7995WX, the anterior flagship product of AMD.
This gain marks a substantial generational jump, in particular for users whose applications benefit from the full core and the number of threads.
The Threadripper Pro 9995WX has just been sold and can be found at large retailers like Amazon and Newegg, with a starting price of $ 11,699.
