The Pindi Refracting Pinde Sanitation System on the cards

The Punjab government plans to treat the longtime water shortage of Rawalpindi by completing the Chirah dam (28 mgd), the Chahan dam (17 mgd) and the water supply projects of the Dadocha dam (35 mgd). In addition, 40 pc of the city’s sewer system will be upgraded at 100pc, and rainwater recovery systems will be widened.

These announcements were made by the secretary of the Punjab Housing, Noorul Aminal, during a meeting in Rawalpindi, which attended the DG Wasa Punjab Tayyab Fareed, MD Wasa Rawalpindi Muhammad Saleem Ashraf and other officials.

The meeting examined the master plan of the Rawalpindi water and sewer system, under development within the framework of the Punjab development program.

Secretary MENGAL said WASA will install new surface water treatment plants and will improve the water distribution network in Rawalpindi.

He added that the rainwater recovery systems and the underground water storage tanks will be established to preserve rainwater, and wastewater and the rainwater of the drains will be treated and reused for agriculture. Wastewater treatment factories will be installed in wastewater drainage outlets, including Nala Lai.

MENGAL has focused on the use of intelligent resources and collaborative planning with the relevant departments.
