- A new series of leaks regarding the next Xbox console has struck the internet
- The new console was going to exceed PS5 PRO and Target Native 4K 120FPS Performance
- It could arrive at the end of 2026 at the beginning of 2027
Microsoft can go all-in on its new generation Xbox console, and it could be launched earlier than you think.
As indicated by Notebookcheck, a new series of leaks in Moore’s law is dead suggests that the next Xbox console could overcome the PS5 PRO in terms of performance and visual loyalty.
The new system, named Magnus, would have the GPU and the Zen 6 processor of AMD. According to Moore’s law, graphic capacities here would be roughly the equivalent of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 card. The system would be able to target 120FPS native performance with 4K resolution. We could also expect to improve the tracing capacities of the shelves.
As for the launch window, Moore’s law suggests an exit time at the end of 2026 – 2027. It is a little earlier than what I expected, given the gap from seven to eight years found with more recent generations of console. This may also suggest that once you should probably not expect a massive technological jump from PS1 to PS2.
It has also been reported that the next Xbox console will be based on AMD FSR scaling technology. Unlike the PS5 PS5 PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), Microsoft does not seek to develop its own AI scaling solution.
Compaatibility behind also seems likely, which means that Xbox players from current generation should be able to resume their game libraries to the new console without problems. Although part of this depends on whether or not the next Xbox will include a disk player, or if Microsoft chooses to become completely disc because we have recently seen evidence with the Xbox Series X Digital Edition.
