Qau students detained sent to prison

Islamabad:

A judicial magistrate sent the students arrested from Quaid-i-Azam (QAU) to prison for a judicial reference of 14 days as part of a refusal to leave the rooms of the Auberge on Thursday. The court also ordered that students will be produced again on August 13.

The judicial magistrate Mureed Abbas chaired the hearing, where the police presented the detained students. The students’ legal team opposed pre -trial detention and asked for the release of students.

Lawyer Riasat Ali Azad argued that 29 students were in police custody and that the accusations were widely renowned, without mention of weapons in the FIR, which mainly referred to the sloganing. “This case does not justify a pre-trial detention; it justifies a release,” he said. The Gujar questioned the university’s treatment of the question: “Even tenants are intended for opinions before the expulsion. They are students who could be future lawyers, judges and politicians.”

Defense lawyers criticized the investigation, not stressing any proof of tearing or injuries and accusation of the heaviness of the lawyers, including the lawyers to meet the students. Lawyer Imaan Mazari allegedly alleged a police fault, saying that the police tried to present themselves to the lawyers with a vehicle and did not show respect for the court.

However, the lawyer for the university, Raja Zahoorul Hassan, argued that the detainees were not real students but foreigners involved in illegal activities. During his arguments, the students chanted “shame, shame”, provoking the dissatisfaction of the court.

The accusation requested 10 -day pre -trial detention, but the court sent all the students detained to judicial custody, again ordering their production on August 13.

Outside the courtroom, tensions intensified when some lawyers have surrounded and attempted to attack the lawyer for the university, his son, and the responsibility of Colonel (RETD) Nadeem.
