Islamabad:
Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to further expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, stressing the importance of improving their relationship in large -scale and mutually beneficial areas.
During a meeting between the Iranian president on a visit, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and President Asif Ali Zardari in Aiwan-E-Sadr, the two leaders exchanged opinions on major regional and international developments and underlined the need for coordinated diplomatic efforts to prevent the climbing of conflicts and to promote peace, security and stability in the region.
The welcoming president Pezeshkian, President Zardari said that Pakistan and Iran appreciated the fraternal relations that were based on religion, culture and shared mutual respect. He appreciated Iran’s positions in principle on regional issues and recognized Tehran’s constant support for regional cooperation.
Zardari expressed his gratitude for Iran’s solidarity during critical moments and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to work closely with Iran for a peaceful and prosperous future. The president also thanked the supreme Iranian leader Syed Ali Khamenei for his constant support for the inhabitants of the Indians illegally occupied the Jammu and the Kashmir (Iiojk).
President Zardari firmly condemned the Israeli aggression not provoked against Iran and praised the bravery and the unity of the Iranian nation during the recent 12 -day war. He expressed the hope that President Pezeshkian’s visit would further strengthen fraternal relations between the two countries.
President Pezeshkian thanked the leadership and the people of Pakistan for their support during the 12 -day war and appreciated the constructive role of Pakistan in the defense of climbing, dialogue and diplomacy for the peaceful resolution of disputes.
