The former NFL quarterrier, Dan Orlovsky, has a very strong opinion about Terry McLaurin who holds Washington commanders: pay the man.

During the “first take” of ESPN, the quarter-rear which became an analyst took a strong shot on the commanders for not having paid his best receiver, who kept the franchise of the training camp due to a contractual dispute.

“Washington respectfully, you have been a dumpster fire for years,” Orlovsky told panel. “You were a rigor. The only good thing about your organization was this young man. Each year he did. Year after year, for five or six years, with a disaster all around you.”

The commanders were the surprise of the NFL last season, while the quarter-arre recruit Jayden Daniels and a brand new coache staff led by Dan Quinn have pumped a new life in the franchise in search of its first place in the playoffs since 2020, but it did much more than that.

Washington upset the Lions of Detroit on the road during the divisional tour to meet in the NFC championship match for the first time since he won the Super Bowl in 1991. They were unable to do “The Big Game”, but it was clear with Daniels under the center that the commanders would be an eliminatory competitor for the years to come.

But McLaurin, a choice of third round of Washington from Ohio State in 2019, was thick and thin with the franchise, as Orlovsky alluded. And with his contract after this season, he is looking for another extension to remain a piece of the offense, and more importantly, Daniels’ favorite weapon in the passing game for the years to come.

The problem is that the franchise does not see McLaurin as someone who should earn at least $ 32 million per season like the other high -level receivers have obtained their new offers. The Pittsburgh steelers, after exchanging with the Seattle Seahawks, gave DK Metcalf this type of transaction.

Orlovsky says Washington must consider McLaurin as a necessity for his offense to function as he wants in 2025.

“If you don’t have it, you erase everything you have done last year,” said Orlovsky. “Everything you have done. And I am respectful towards Dan Quinn and [general manager] Adams Peters and what they did last year. You need him. Give me receivers who have an impact to win as much or if not more than Terry McLaurin. … I’ll give you [Bengals’] Ja’marr [Chase]. I would give you [Vikings’] Justin [Jefferson]. [Lions’] Amon-Ra St. Brown. He has an impact on victory. … What are we doing in Washington? “”

McLaurin, 29, has totaled at least 1,000 yards in each of his last five seasons with the commanders, totaling 1,096 with 13 affected in 17 regular season games last year. Then he caught 14 passes for 227 yards and three scores in the playoff series for Washington.

McLaurin may be in the building, but he has not yet practiced his teammates until he obtained an agreement on paper. There has been a widespread debate on what it deserves on the market, but Orlovsky is clearly on the side of the payment of McLaurin what he wants.

If they do not do so and McLaurin lacks games in 2025, he certainly thinks that the offensive will not work as well as in 2024.
