On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took action in response to the flood situation in various low residential areas of Islamabad, which followed strong recent precipitation.
In a press release published by the Prime Minister’s office, the PM has ordered the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the district administration to launch urgent rescue operations and guarantee rapid drainage of rainwater from affected neighborhoods, in particular near rainwater drains.
Worrying about the fate of residents in the areas prone to floods, the Prime Minister also asked the authorities to implement precautionary measures to protect vulnerable communities near rivers and voids.

He ordered the health service to remain on a high alert to prevent the spread of water diseases, which can often follow these floods induced by precipitation.
To monitor and manage the situation, Prime Minister Shehbaz has created a special committee to supervise rescue operations and ensure the security and relief of affected citizens. He reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting life and property during natural disasters, stressing the need for a quick and organized response from all the agencies concerned.
In a separate development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting on the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC), ordering the competent authorities to ensure that global health care standards are respected in its development.
“The Jinnah medical complex will be a world class hospital, providing treatment to patients in the four provinces, including AZAD Cashmere and Gilgit-Baltistan,” said Prime Minister. He highlighted the importance of transparency and merit both in the construction and recruitment of staff for the establishment.
The Prime Minister also called for third -party construction quality validation to guarantee high standards. He asked for the preparation of a plan to improve primary and secondary health systems in Islamabad to reduce pressure on existing tertiary hospitals.
“The Jinnah medical complex will be built with standard international facilities, and it will offer even better services compared to Pakistan Reiny and Liver Institute (PKLI),” he said, adding that all related services, including the concierge, should be outsourced.
During the meeting, the officials informed the Prime Minister of Progress of Concept of the Concept, the training of the Board of Directors, the acquisition of land and the plans for a proposed shopping center adjacent to the hospital. It has been reported that the concept of the concept, the transfer of land and the meetings of the board of directors are being completed and that geotechnical studies and social impact are in progress.
