12 PTI workers Arrested for riots granted by the Karachi Court

Karachi:

A Karachi court on Tuesday awarded a deposit to 12 workers from Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) who were arrested for riots, stone pelting and attacking the police during a protest rally in the metropolis on August 5.

The judicial magistrate of District East approved the bonding arguments submitted by defense lawyers and ordered the liberation of the accused against the bonds of 5,000 rupees each. Earlier, police had produced the accused in court and asked for his pre -trial detention for a new interrogation.

According to the head of the survey (IO), PTI workers had blocked the road during a rally led by senior party leaders, notably Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Awab Alvi and Raja Azhar, in Hassan Square.
The IO said that the demonstration had become violent when the accused hit stones on the police and attacked them with sticks, injuring a police officer identified as Aijaz.

The OI asked for the accused’s physical guard to verify the case of criminal record, adding that several other suspects were still at freedom.

However, the court rejected the police ‘request and rendered the 12 accused on surety, who were identified as Nadir, Abdul Rafi, Sarfraz Jameel, Fida Rehman, Nabi Ahmad, Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Ibrahim, Yunus Khan, Zar Wali, Muhammad Hanif, Sohail Ahmad Memon and Adnan.

Later, the president of the PTI Sindh, Haleem Adil Sheikh, visited the city court to meet the liberated workers. Addressing the media on this occasion, he declared that the surety order was a victory for truth and justice.

The demonstration in Hassan Square was peaceful and that the FIR registered against the party workers was manufactured, he said. “Police used the baton accusation and drew shells on peaceful demonstrators,” he said, adding that his name was not included in the FIR but was then inserted in the dismissal documents.

He reiterated the determination of the party to continue the protest movement until the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, was released from prison. “Frustration among young people grows every day.
