- Another rumor suggests that the MacBook Pro OLED arrives at the end of 2026
- We were told again that Samsung Display would make the screen
- It is one of MacBook’s most coherent rumors, with a doubt that has slipped into other theories
Yet another rumor indicates that Apple should publish a MacBook Pro with an OLED screen later in 2026.
MacRumors spotted the Dealsite.co.KR report (a Korean website), which claims that Samsung Display will be the only supplier of these OLED screens for an Apple MacBook which will make its debut at the end of 2026.
We are told that the OLED GEN 8.6 mounting lines of Samsung are easily able to meet the demand that Apple will need for OLED panels in its MacBook Pros. And that the investment of Samsung in this production capacity allows a suitably attractive manufacturing cost with regard to this very important material value for the MacBook.
Obviously, we have to pay attention to a rumor, but this is not the first time that we have heard the name of Samsung mentioned as the manufacturer of the MacBook’s OLED screen.
In March 2025, the famous apple leak, Mark Gurman, predicted that the big change for the MacBook Pro will not arrive before the end of 2026 – with a major overhaul on a Samsung “ Tandem ” Oled (two panels crushed together, so to speak, to allow better light and power efficiency), as well as the computer reduction.
In addition, Apple can exchange the “Notch” on the screen for a “Cut” webcam.
Analysis: deadlines shift, perhaps – but there is a constant
This year’s MacBook Pro will be supposed to be a minor upgrade – if indeed the refreshment of the notebook even arrives in 2025, because another (very recent) speculation of Gurman suggests that it was delayed at the beginning of 2026. It will be the MacBook Pro M5, and the OLED model will be, in theory, will arrive late in 2026 with the M6 chip on board.
Of course, take all this with a grain of salt, because it would be rather unusual in terms of launching calendar for Apple – but that does not mean that it cannot happen.
In short, the rumor mill was somewhat confused on exactly what Apple’s MacBook plans are in terms of launch dates – perhaps because the company shone with these plans and moves to internal deadlines.
Be that as it may, a rumor has remained quite constant, that the MacBook Pro will be OLED first, and this will occur at the end of 2026 – Samsung being now constantly mentioned as the manufacturer of the screen.
