The Minister of Defense seeks to cancel the rumors of exit

Islamabad:

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif pushed speculation on Thursday that he resigned, qualifying “completely false” complaints.

The PML-N leader has published a screenshot of a wire shared on X (formerly Twitter) by journalist Zubair Ali Khan claiming that Aif had resigned from his power to power.

Marking the screenshot “Fake”, wrote Asif “with excuses, this gentleman expressed his wishes in this tweet, not reality”.

Khan said that the Asif resigned in response to “intensified controversy surrounding the arrest of SIALKOT’s additional assistant’s additional income (ADCR) a few days ago for an alleged financial corruption”.

According to Khan’s thread, “in the resignation submitted to Dr. Tauqeer Shah, advisor to the Prime Minister’s office, Khawaja Asif said that the ADCR should be released or that his resignation should be accepted”.

Khan also alleged that an “influential person” was involved in the arrest, someone who would have been subordinate in the department of the Minister of Defense.

He then shared an update, also affirming that the Asif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had held a meeting in Murrier, during which the president of the PML-N advised AIF to withdraw his resignation, and the Minister of Defense accepted.

“After the meeting, Khawaja Asif has become inaccessible; no minister or journalist can contact him. He turned off all his phone numbers and has moved to a non -disclosed location,” said Khan.

The rumors began after the Asif alleged that a large segment of the Bureaucracy of Pakistan was looking for refuge and citizenship in Portugal, taking billions of rupees with them.

In an article Tuesday, AIF wrote on X: “More than half of the bureaucracy of our dear homeland has already acquired a property in Portugal and is now preparing to guarantee citizenship”.
