- Studios avalanche smuggling is apparently no more
- The game has never received only one public-oriented trailer
- There has been no news to the game during the four years since its announcement
Xbox Game Studios has canceled Smuggling, A game that I would not blame you for not remembering, because we only saw it once in the form of a CG trailer.
Smuggling, being developed by Just cause And Mad Max’s Avalanche Studios, was initially revealed in 2021, accompanied by a trailer that did not give much beyond its granularity framework of the 1970s.
Initially reported by Bloomberg, it seems that Smuggling has now been canceled, or has at least had its interrupted development at the moment. Journalist Jason Schreier declares that the project was canceled “after four years of radio silence”.
Avalanche Studios has followed a confirmation on his own website, saying: “In recent years, Avalanche Studios Group and Xbox Game Studios Publishing have collaborated on smuggling. Active development has now stopped while we are assessing the future of the project. We are grateful for the excitement that we have seen from the community since we have announced and will be updated TO DO.”
A cancellation at this stage may not be so surprising for Smuggling, But whatever, this is not a good look for Xbox. The company recently canceled two high -level games in the rare Farce And the initiative Perfect Dark restart. It is in conjunction with another recent series of mass layoffs, where thousands of employees in several studios have been released.
In July, Xbox boss, Phil Spencer, described the actions taken as “difficult decisions”, saying that “the platform, the equipment, the equipment and the game of Xbox have never been stronger” despite the apparent instability of the umbrella of the Xbox game studios.
