At least 14 terrorists killed in the Balutchistan Zhob district: ISPR

The security forces killed at least 14 terrorists in a “disinfection” operation near the Sambaza region in the Zhob district in the night of August 8 and 9, the army said in a statement on Saturday

According to the army media wing, weapons, ammunition and explosives have been recovered from people killed. The press release added that the security forces remain determined to protect the country’s borders and to thwart attempts to undermine peace, stability and progress.

The action followed previous commitments in the same area on August 7 and 8, in which 33 terrorists were killed, bringing the total to 47 in two days of operations against terrorism.

“The own troops have actually committed and thwarted their attempted infiltration. Due to a precise, daring and skillful commitment, 33 khwarij, sponsored by India, were sent to hell,” he added. “A large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives has also been recovered.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the security forces for managing to thwart the infiltration attempt. “The courageous security staff risked his life to stop the terrorists and frustrate his harmful creations,” he said in a statement published by his office.

The Prime Minister underlined the support of the nation to the security forces, saying that “the whole nation resists the security forces in its fight against terrorism”. He reiterated his commitment to eliminate all forms of terrorism in the country and underlined the government’s determination to maintain peace and security.
