Islamabad:
On Monday, Pakistan firmly rejected the declaration of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) concerning the remarks awarded to the Chief of the Staff of the Army, the Marshal Asim Munir, calling it “immature” and a distortion of the facts.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Indian account of the alleged “nuclear blackmail” was “deceptive and selfish” and that Pakistan has remained firmly opposed to the use or the threat of appealing.
“Saber-dratling and the war of India each time the untreated allegations have been faced with rationality,” said FO spokesperson in a statement.
The spokesman stressed that Pakistan is a “state of nuclear weapons responsible with a command and control structure developed under the civil control of the full” and has always exercised “discipline and restraint” on questions of such importance.
The FO also rejected what he called “parasitic insinuations” on the Pakistan terrorism record, claiming that the “supported and credible” efforts of the country have been internationally recognized and that its security forces “remain the rampart against terrorism”.
He expressed his concern about the reference of the Indian Mea to “third countries”, describing it as a “futile attempt” to involve other states and an indication of the “lack of diplomatic confidence” of India.
