Shrek Fans will have to wait a little longer for the new suite as a release date for Shrek 5 was repelled.
Monday, Universal and DreamWorks Animation announced that the release date of the next episode moved from December 23, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
The renowned studio has not shared the reason for the delay. According to Variety,, Shrek 5 was initially scheduled for July 2026.
After the announcement, fans rushed on social networks to share their opinion on the late film.
“Stop announcing films that will not be absent in 2 years,” wrote a user on X.
“Why did they announce it so early if they don’t publish it early,” said another.
Recently, Eddie Murphy revealed to Screen that the vocal cast always records Shrek 5.
When he posed questions about the status of the future, the 64 -year -old actor replied: “We are starting in September on Donkey, we make a donkey, and it will be in three years, but we are about two years in Shrek 5.”
“Always in the stand and about to start donkey in September,” he added.
